   'Don`t it make my brown eyes blue'는 1978년에 발표한 그녀의 네번째 앨범

  「We Must Believe In Magic」에 수록된 곡으로 빌보드 챠트 2위,컨츄리 챠트 1위에

   랭크되었고 1978년 그래미상에서 최우수 컨츄리 여성보컬상을 안겨준 곡이죠.

 

   'Don't come home a drinkin' 은 그녀의 친언니이자 가수인 Loretta Lynn이

   1951년 1월 9일생인 크리스탈 게일(Crystal Gayle)은, 켄터키주 페인츠빌에서

   태어났으며, 컨츄리계의 여왕 로레타 린(Loretta Lynn)의 동생으로 더욱 유명하다.

   크리스탈 게일도 언니인 로레타 린의 도움으로 1968년에 내쉬빌로 이주하여,

   데카 레코드사와 계약을 맺고 활동했다.

   하지만, 별 히트 곡 없이 지내다가~ 1973년 1월에 유나이티드 아티스츠(United Artists)

   레코드사로 이적하고, 데뷰 싱글 "Restless"와 앨범 "Crystal Gayle"을 발표하면서

   두각을 나타내기 시작했다. 그리고 두번째 앨범 "Somebody Loves You"는 크리스탈

   게일이 최초로 챠트의 톱을 장식한 "I'll Get Over You"가 수록된 앨범으로,그녀를 일약

   스타덤에 오르게 한 앨범이기도 했다.

   1978년에 발표한 그녀의 네번째 앨범 「We Must Believe In Magic」은 플래티늄

   앨범으로 기록되었으며, 이 앨범에서 싱글 커트된 "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes

   Blue"는 제20회 그래미 최우수 컨츄리 여성 싱어로 선정되게 한 작품이었다.

   또한 싱글 "Ready For The Times To Get Better"는 컨츄리 챠트 넘버 원을

   기록하는 등, 컨츄리 계에서는 언니인 로레타 린에 버금가는 인기를 유지해오고 있다.

   매니저이자 남편인 빌 겟지모스(Bill Gatzimos)와 단란한 가정 생활을 영위하고 있는

   크리스탈 게일은 1983년 초반에 컨츄리 스타 에디 래비트(Eddie Rabbitt)와 함께
